Education Philosophy

The VET by EHL programs follow EHL’s philosophy of balancing theory and application. That means that students will be stimulated by their trainers to think and synthesize knowledge, all in real-life setting classrooms which allow them to apply their theoretical knowledge & hone their skills. Having the possibility to make mistakes in a safe but realistic environment, before entering the industry as graduates, allows the students to grow and excel later in their careers.

General Programme Objectives

  • Develop the vocational competencies and knowledge required in the hotel and restaurant sectors of the hospitality industry.
  • Transmit and develop the skills, knowledge and know-how that will enable graduates to carry out a professional activity safely and competently.

Programme Structure

  • Each certificate level (Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced) builds skills on top of the previous and culminates in a Professional Diploma.
  • Entry & exit is possible at any level of the certificate as long as the learner meets the admission’s criteria of that level.
  • A Certificate can be completed in 6 months (3 months of courses and 3 months of internship) while the Professional Diploma can be achieved in 18 months on completion of the three certificate levels.
  • In exceptional cases it can be achieved in 12 months, if the student passes a Recognition of Experiential Learning test and has 2 years of professional experience.

Programme Delivery

  • Programme content is disseminated to the Licensee’s campus exclusively via VET by EHL’s Learning Management System (LMS) that powers both in-class and remote learning.
  • Learning material is created by EHL faculty and complemented by instructor led video content from EHL’s official video provider TYPSY.
  • EHL Advisory is responsible for training the trainers through the "Train the Trainer" program focused on the practical skills and mindset required to become an EHL recognized facilitator.
  • Internships are leveraged to fortify knowledge, skills & mindset.
