What Is SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)?

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Education (MOE). It will drive and coordinate the implementation of the national SkillsFuture movement, promote a culture and holistic system of lifelong learning through the pursuit of skills mastery, and strengthen the ecosystem of quality education and training in Singapore.

What Is Workfare Skills Support (WSS) Scheme?

WSS complements Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) by encouraging Singaporean workers to attend training to improve their skills. WSS also supports employers to send their workers for training.

From July 2020, the Workfare Training Support (WTS) will be replaced by the Workfare Skills Support (WSS). Changes are as follows.

  • Qualifying income cap increased to $2,300/mth from $2,000/mth
  • Self-sponsored trainees’ Training Allowance increased to $6.00/hr from $4.50/hr
  • Training Commitment Award (TCA) for Full Qualifications (FQ) increased
  • Training Commitment Award cap increased to $1,000 from $400

How do I apply for funding support for the programmes?

Individual funding for WSQ Accredited courses only can be applied for through MySkillsFuture Portal for Singaporeans and PR holders. Please see https://www.myskillsfuture.gov.sg/content/portal/en/index.html for additional details.

Who can apply for the programmes?

Our Online, Professional Development, and Customised programmes are available for all individuals interested in enhancing their skills and competencies. Our WSQ Accredited courses are available for new entrants and those who are currently working in the Hospitality Industry.

What does the module fee include?

The course fee includes all course materials and GST.

Where will the classes be held?

The classes are held at our Institute – 5 Magazine Road, #02-02, Singapore, 059571.

Some classes may be held online via webconferencing tools, like Microsoft TEAMS or ZOOM Meetings. Do check with us to find out more.

What are the available payment methods?

You can pay by PayNow and bank transfer. For SkillsFuture-funded courses, you may use your SkillsFuture Credit to claim for your course fees. Please contact the SIH Team if you require assistance.
